SAP Ariba Consultant

We are seeking an experienced SAP Ariba Consultant with strong expertise in procurement and supply chain processes. The ideal candidate will combine deep functional Ariba knowledge with excellent communication skills and the ability to lead workshops, stakeholders, and project teams. This role is suited for a consultant who can translate business requirements into scalable solutions and drive successful deployment across global procurement operations.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Functional Expertise

• Deliver end-to-end SAP Ariba solutions across modules such as S2C, S2P, Procurement, Contracts, Sourcing, Supplier Management, Ariba Buying & Invoicing, and Guided Buying.

• Analyse procurement and supply chain requirements and map them to Ariba standard functionalities and best practices.

• Design functional specifications, process flows, configuration documents, and integration requirements with SAP ECC/S4HANA or third-party systems.

• Support configuration, testing, defect resolution, cutover planning, and hypercare activities.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

• Lead workshops with business users, procurement leaders, and supply chain teams to gather requirements and validate solution design.

• Communicate complex Ariba capabilities and process changes in clear, business-friendly language.

• Act as a trusted advisor to procurement stakeholders, offering insights on optimisation, compliance, spend visibility, and supplier enablement.

Project Delivery & Leadership

• Serve as the functional lead on Ariba projects, coordinating delivery activities across functional, technical, and integration teams.

• Provide guidance to junior consultants, review deliverables, and ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards.

• Collaborate with PMO and business leaders on project planning, issue management, and change management activities.

• Support pre-sales activities such as solution demos, effort estimations, and proposal contributions.

Integration & Process Excellence

• Work closely with integration teams on Ariba Network, CIG, and S4HANA procurement interfaces.

• Ensure smooth end-to-end process alignment across sourcing, contracting, purchasing, invoicing, and supplier lifecycle management.

• Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend enhancements based on procurement best practices and industry trends.

  Required Skills & Experience

  • 5-8+ years of experience as a SAP Ariba Consultant with strong exposure to procurement and supply chain operations.

  • Hands-on experience in multiple Ariba modules (Sourcing, Contracts, Buying & Invoicing, Supplier Management, etc.).

  • Strong understanding of procurement processes: sourcing, supplier onboarding, PO/PR management, invoicing, catalog management, contract compliance, and supply chain collaboration.

  • Experience leading workshops, delivering client-facing presentations, and managing stakeholder expectations.

  • Ability to translate functional requirements into clear, actionable specifications.

  • Strong knowledge of integration touchpoints between Ariba and SAP ECC/S4HANA (CIG or PI/PO).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics.

  Nice-to-Have

  • Experience in global deployment or multi-country rollouts.

  • Ariba certification (S2C or P2P).

  • Knowledge of supply chain planning or inventory processes.

  • Experience in Agile/Hybrid project delivery methodologies.
