We are looking for a highly skilled SAP ABAP with CPI Architect to design, develop, and integrate technical solutions for a brownfield S/4HANA implementation project in the retail industry. The role will combine ABAP development expertise with SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) architecture and design leadership to ensure seamless connectivity across on-premise and cloud systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical architecture and integration design for the brownfield S/4HANA implementation.
- Design and develop complex ABAP programs, enhancements, interfaces, forms, and reports following SAP best practices.
- Architect and implement integrations between SAP S/4HANA and external systems using SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI).
- Define the integration strategy, data flow design, and middleware configuration for real-time and batch interfaces.
- Collaborate closely with functional leads (FICO, SD, MM, PP/QM) to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Ensure compliance with SAP's clean core and extensibility framework, minimizing custom code in S/4HANA.
- Oversee code reviews, performance tuning, and adherence to development standards.
- Design and maintain integration monitoring, error handling, and retry mechanisms in CPI.
- Collaborate with BASIS, Security, and Infrastructure teams to ensure robust deployment and connectivity setup.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the ABAP and CPI development teams.
- Support cutover, go-live, and hypercare phases for all integration and custom development deliverables.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years of SAP technical experience, including ABAP development and integration architecture.
- Minimum 2 full-cycle S/4HANA implementations (at least one brownfield conversion preferred).
- Hands-on expertise in SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI), including iFlows, adapters (SOAP, REST, IDoc, OData, SFTP), and exception handling.
- Strong experience with ABAP on HANA CDS views, AMDP, OData services, BOPF, and RAP framework.
- Proven ability to design and deliver scalable and secure cloud integrations across SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Experience with API Management, SAP Event Mesh, and Integration Suite is highly desirable.
- Good understanding of SAP extensibility options such as in-app, side-by-side, and classic extensions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in retail or consumer goods environments preferred.
- Prior regional experience in Singapore or ASEAN projects is an advantage.
