SAP ABAP (Logistics) Consultant
Job Title: SAP ABAP Consultant - Logistics
Role Summary
Responsible for design, development, and maintenance of custom objects in SAP logistics modules (MM, SD, WM/EWM, PM, TM, LE) using ABAP and related technologies. Works closely with functional consultants and architects to deliver highquality, performant, and maintainable technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and support custom programs, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms for SAP logistics modules using ABAP (reports, function modules, OOABAP, BAPIs, BADIs, user exits).
- Build and maintain interfaces between SAP and external systems (IDocs, RFCs, web services, filebased integration, OData where applicable).
- Work from functional specifications to create technical specifications, estimates, and development plans.
- Perform unit testing, support integration/UAT, debug issues, and optimize code for performance and scalability.
- Adhere to development standards, naming conventions, transport procedures, and documentation practices.
- Collaborate closely with functional logistics consultants to refine requirements, propose technical solutions, and resolve defects.
Required Skills and Experience
- 12 years + years of experience in SAP ABAP development with strong focus on logistics modules (MM/SD/WM/EWM/PM).
- Solid experience with classic ABAP development objects (reports, ALV, dialog programming, enhancements, user exits, BADIs, BAPIs, IDocs, SmartForms/Adobe Forms).
- Good understanding of logistics business processes (procuretopay, ordertocash, warehouse operations, maintenance) sufficient to discuss and challenge technical requirements.
- Strong debugging and performance tuning skills, including SQL trace and runtime analysis.
- Ability to work in a structured way with clear documentation and version/transport management.
