Job Description

The Sales Manager will oversee all local B2B and distribution sales operations for the company's food manufacturing business. This role involves managing key distributors, wholesalers, foodservice partners, and B2B clients across Singapore.


The ideal candidate is a hands-on and strategic leader who can implement sales systems, manage budgets, lead negotiations, and work closely with internal departments to ensure smooth operations and profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Strategy & Business Growth

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for B2B, distributor, and foodservice channels.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities in both local and export markets.
  • Lead pricing, contract, and trade term negotiations to optimize profitability.
  • Set and manage annual sales budgets, forecasts, and growth targets.
  • Conduct market analysis and competitor benchmarking to guide commercial planning.

2. Budgeting & Commercial Control

  • Prepare and manage the annual sales budget, including trade spend and rebates.
  • Monitor monthly sales performance versus targets and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Ensure cost efficiency and profit margin control across all business units.
  • Work closely with Finance to monitor account receivables and payment terms.

3. Account Management & Relationship Building

  • Maintain and expand relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and corporate customers.
  • Conduct business reviews and performance evaluations with key partners.
  • Resolve customer concerns and ensure strong long-term partnerships.
  • Collaborate on joint business plans and activation ideas with distributors.

4. Team Leadership

  • Lead, guide, and develop the sales team to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Set clear KPIs and monitor performance through structured reporting.
  • Build a culture of accountability, motivation, and collaboration.
  • Provide coaching and on-ground support for client meetings when required.

5. Cross-Department Collaboration (Internal Coordination)

  • Work closely with Production to align sales forecasts with manufacturing capacity and lead times.
  • Coordinate with Operations and Logistics on delivery schedules, stock planning, and product movement.
  • Partner with Finance on credit control, pricing accuracy, and payment collections.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on trade promotions, campaigns, and B2B communication.
  • Liaise with Admin on documentation, quotations, and client support.
  • Ensure smooth internal communication and alignment between departments.

6. System & Process Implementation

  • Establish a structured sales reporting system, CRM, and tracking tools.
  • Standardize quotation templates, contracts, and customer documentation.
  • Streamline communication flow between departments for efficient sales execution.
  • Continuously improve workflow efficiency and SOPs across the sales cycle.

Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in food manufacturing, B2B, or distribution sales (managerial level preferred).
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in budget control, pricing, and trade management.
  • Capable of implementing systems and structure in a growing business.
  • Proactive, independent, and results-driven.
