Job Description

Dezign Format is seeking an experienced and self-driven Sales Manager to lead and drive revenue growth across key sectors, including exhibitions, events, retail environments, and experiential activations.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies and managing key client relationships, while guiding the sales team to achieve sustainable business targets and revenue growth. You will work closely with senior management, design, and project teams to position Dezign Format as a preferred partner for high-quality, turnkey spatial solutions, while ensuring effective execution of sales operations.

This position is suited for a strategic leader with strong sales acumen, leadership capabilities, and the ability to translate market opportunities into tangible business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and pursue new business accounts across key sectors (e.g., events, exhibitions, retail fit-outs, brand activations, etc.)

  • Build, manage, and strengthen relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and partners to ensure strong client satisfaction and long-term partnership development

  • Oversee and maintain accurate records of sales activities to monitor sales performance and pipeline health, and refine strategies to improve conversion

  • Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation to proposal development, negotiation, and closing

  • Lead proposal development, pricing, and negotiations, while collaborating with internal teams to deliver compelling sales pitches and presentations

  • Translate client briefs into clear requirements for internal teams to ensure proposed solutions are aligned with expectations, budget, and project feasibility

  • Ensure smooth handover of secured projects to the project management team for execution

  • Respond to client briefs, RFQs, and tenders in a timely and strategic manner

  • Represent the company in networking events, industry exhibitions, and client engagements

  • Establish and improve sales processes, tools, and reporting systems

  • Work closely with management on revenue forecasting and business planning to set clear sales targets, strategy, KPIs, and performance expectations for the team

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to achieve individual and team targets

Requirements

Core Competencies

  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant sales or business development experience, preferably in the design and build industry, with experience handling projects such as exhibitions, events, interior fit-out, and brand activation

  • Proven track record in securing high-value projects and accounts to achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth

  • Strong commercial acumen, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to identify new business opportunities, develop strategic sales plans, and grow key accounts

  • Confident and persuasive communicator with strong presentation and negotiation skills

  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, overseeing progress from pitch to execution while providing timely updates and managing client expectations effectively

  • Highly organised, detail-oriented and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and the confidence to lead effectively

  • Strong understanding of project delivery processes, with the ability to oversee timelines, budgets, and client satisfaction

  • Knowledge of materials, fabrication processes, and cost structures to ensure efficient and profitable project execution

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, Excel) for proposal preparation and presentations

  • Familiarity with CRM systems or sales pipeline management tools for forecasting and performance tracking

  • Experience with monday.com and Navision is a plus

  • Good understanding of design development, production workflows, and build processes

  • Strong financial and business acumen, including costing, budgeting, and margin optimisation
