We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Sales Engineer to support business development in the marine sector. This role requires a balance of engineering knowledge, sales ability, and strong costing skills to deliver competitive and accurate solutions to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the marine and offshore industry
- Build and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, shipyards, and marine contractors
- Provide technical recommendations based on customer requirements and project specifications
- Prepare accurate cost estimations, quotations, and tender submissions
- Analyze project costs, margins, and pricing strategies to ensure profitability
- Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to obtain pricing and technical details
- Negotiate contracts and close sales effectively
- Monitor market trends and competitor pricing
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Marine, Mechanical, or related field)
- 1-3 years of experience in sales engineering or marine industry
- Strong understanding of costing, pricing, and margin analysis
- Ability to prepare detailed quotations and tender documents
- Good technical knowledge of marine equipment/systems
- Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office applications
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in project costing or tendering within marine/offshore sector
- Familiarity with procurement and supplier management
