Key Responsibilities:
- Site Inspection & Enforcement: Conduct regular on-site safety audits, identify hazards, and enforce compliance with WSH standards (e.g., scaffolding, electrical, working at heights).
- Risk Management: Assist in developing Risk Assessments (RA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP) for high-risk activities.
- Permit-to-Work Administration: Review and approve permit-to-work systems for high-risk operations like lifting and hot work.
- Safety Training: Organize and conduct safety inductions, toolbox meetings, and specialized training for workers and subcontractors.
- Incident Investigation: Lead accident investigations, prepare detailed reports, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all works comply with MOM (Ministry of Manpower) guidelines or local statutory requirements.
- Communication: Act as the key liaison between workers and management regarding safety concerns and improvements
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Certification: Valid Certificate in (formerly BCSS) or similar WSH Coordinator certification.
- Experience: 2-6 years of experience in EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) within the construction industry.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of local Workplace Safety and Health regulations.
- Skills: Strong communication, observation, and leadership skills.
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Safety, or a related discipline is often preferred
Working Conditions:
- Requires significant time on construction sites (exposed to heat, noise, and hazardous conditions).
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) continuously.
