About the Position
The Project Engineer will be act as PLC Engineer is responsible for the design, development, testing, and validation of safety-critical PLC Systems achieving SIL 1 and 2 (Safety Integrity Level) for LTA transportation projects. This role ensures PLC Systems meet safety, reliability, and regulatory standards for road operations
Job Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain SIL 2 (Safety Integrity Level) lifecycle documentation
- Develop and execute Safety Requirements Specifications for PLC Systems
- Design architecture for SIL 2 PLC systems (e.g., redundant processors, voting logic, safe I/O modules)
- Develop ladder logic/structured text programs adhering to safety patterns and coding standards
- Configure safety PLC hardware (Schneider Electric Safety PLCs)
- Integrate PLCs with other subsystems
- Implement diagnostic routines for real-time health monitoring of safety function
- Design and review safety-critical I/O circuits
- Configure industrial networks ensuring SIL 2 communication integrity
- Interface PLCs with field devices: relays, sensors, actuators, HMIs, SCADA Systems
- Manage PLC panel design coordination (layouts, wiring diagrams, segregation of safety / non- safety circuits)
- Develop and execute rigorous test plans including Module testing, Integration Testing, Fault Injection Testing
- Conduct Safety Validation Testing to prove SIL 2 performance under fault conditions
- Generate test evidence
- Support site installation, FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), and SAT (Site Acceptance Test)
- Perform PLC Program downloads and safety system energization under controlled procedure
- As-build documentation and configuration records
Requirements:
- 5 years or more in PLC Engineering with at least 2 years specifically in Safety-Critical Systems (SIL 1 or SIL 2)
- Proven experience with SIL safety PLC Platforms Safety network protocols and Safety lifecycle documentation
- Available for night work during commissioning phases
