Job Summary
The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment by implementing, monitoring, and enforcing workplace safety policies in compliance with regulatory requirements. The role involves conducting inspections, risk assessments, and safety training to minimize workplace hazards and incidents.
KeyResponsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) policies and procedures in line with the Ministry of Manpower Singapore regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with the WSH Act, subsidiary legislation, and company safety standards.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses prepare reports and recommend preventive measures.
- Conduct safety induction, training, and toolbox meetings for employees and contractors.
- Monitor the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure proper safety practices are followed.
- Liaise with relevant authorities and external auditors on safety matters.
- Maintain proper documentation of safety records, reports, and certifications.
- Promote a strong safety culture across the organization.
Requirements
- Diploma / Degree in Workplace Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field.
- Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower Singapore (for applicable roles).
- Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience (preferably in construction, logistics, or manufacturing).
- Strong knowledge of Singapore WSH regulations and risk management practices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and conduct site-based duties.
PreferredQualifications
- Certification in WSHO / WSH Coordinator / Risk Management.
- Experience in ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems.
- First Aid and Fire Safety certifications.
