Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Safety Officer to join our team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations, fostering a culture of safety, and reducing workplace risks on-site. This position requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and thorough knowledge of safety protocols and practices in the construction sector.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act and other relevant Singaporean safety regulations.
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments regularly.
- Liaise with government authorities (e.g., MOM, BCA, etc.) for safety audits and certifications.
2. Site Monitoring:
- Supervise and monitor all construction activities to ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Identify hazards, evaluate risks, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate potential dangers.
3. Training & Development:
- Conduct safety induction programs for new workers and regular safety training sessions.
- Promote awareness of safety measures and foster a proactive safety culture within the organization.
4. Incident Management:
- Investigate accidents or near-miss incidents to identify root causes and recommend preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, safety training, and risk assessments.
5. Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain site safety documentation, including safety reports, inspection checklists, and permits.
- Submit periodic safety performance reports to management.
6. Emergency Preparedness:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans tailored to the construction site.
- Conduct drills and ensure all employees are aware of emergency procedures.
