Safety Management:
. Develop, implement, and maintain workplace safety and health policies and procedures.
. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Risk Assessment:
. Perform risk assessments and provide recommendations to mitigate potential hazards.
. Ensure proper implementation of control measures to manage identified risks.
. Maintain and update the Risk Assessment Register.
Training and Awareness:
. Organize and conduct safety training sessions and toolbox meetings for employees and contractors.
. Promote a culture of safety through awareness campaigns and engagement initiatives.
. Ensure all workers are adequately informed about emergency procedures and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Regulatory Compliance:
. Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health Act (WSHA) and other relevant regulations.
. Prepare and submit mandatory safety reports to authorities in a timely manner.
. Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies during inspections and audits.
Emergency Preparedness:
. Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
. Conduct regular emergency drills and exercises.
. Ensure proper maintenance and availability of emergency equipment.
Documentation and Reporting:
. Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
. Prepare detailed safety reports and present findings to management.
. Monitor and track safety performance indicators.
Requirements
. Diploma in the Occupational Safety and Health field.
. Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
. Proficiency in safety management software and tools.
. Ability to lead and influence teams towards a safety-first culture.
