Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Safety Management System: Develop and maintain the company's Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies and procedures, ensuring all work activities comply with regulations and company standards.
Risk Assessment: Identify workplace hazards and unsafe practices, and recommend effective control measures to reduce risks.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and Workplace Safety and Health Council requirements. Liaise with authorities during inspections and audits.
Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular site safety inspections and internal audits. Investigate unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses. Prepare reports and propose preventive measures.
Training and Briefings: Organize WSH training programs for employees and workers. Conduct toolbox meetings and safety briefings to enhance awareness.
Permit-to-Work (PTW) Management: Oversee high-risk activities such as hot works, confined space entry, lifting operations, and work-at-height to ensure proper control.
Emergency Preparedness: Develop emergency response plans and conduct fire drills and emergency exercises.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, training, permits, and corrective actions.
Safety Culture Promotion: Encourage employees and subcontractors to follow safe work procedures and foster a safety-first culture across the organization.
Requirements
Degree/Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health or related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of relevant safety experience, preferably in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of workplace safety regulations and MOM standards.
Expertise in risk management (hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation planning).
Excellent communication skills with both internal staff and external stakeholders.
Proven ability to lead safety audits and incident investigations.
Strong training and mentoring skills to instill a safety-first mindset.
Leadership and teamwork capabilities to manage multi-departmental EHS functions.
