The WSHE Coordinator is responsible for supervising and co-ordinating safety aspects and procedures as required under the Workplace Safety & Health Act
A summary of the responsibilities of this position are, and not limited to, as follows:
- Assist the Project Manager / WSHE Officer to identify any unsafe condition in the worksite or unsafe work practice in the worksite
- Assist the Project Manager / WSHE Officer to implement reasonably practicable measures to remedy the unsafe condition or unsafe work practice
- Check Sub-Contractors work to ensure compliance with the WSH Act and its subsidiary legislations, including the provisions of the WSH (Construction) Regulations
- Carry out site WSHE programmes, procedures and assist in organising WSHE awareness activities such as tool-box meetings, WSHE orientation, WSHE induction, promotional activities, etc.
- Monitor risk assessment compliance and report to WSHE Officer for any non-compliance
- Ensure risk assessment control measures are implemented for all site activities
- Be prepared to stop work or to notify the WSHE Department in the event of any WSHE deviations
Skills and Requirements:
- Education:Minimum WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace, Safety and Health (Level B) as stipulated in the Singapore Ministry of Manpower's accepted WSH-related qualifications.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of building experience
- Certification in Lifting Supervisors Safety Course
- Certification in Supervision of Metal Scaffold Erection Course
- Certification in Confined Space Safety Assessor Course
