Responsibilities & Duties:
1. Coordinate and monitor daily safety, health and environmental (SHE) activities within the precast production plant, casting yard, storage areas and related facilities.
2. Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety audits to identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and potential hazards, and follow up on corrective actions.
3. Ensure precast operations including casting, lifting, demoulding, transportation, storage and handling of precast elements are carried out in accordance with approved safety procedures.
4. Monitor high-risk activities such as lifting operations, work at height, machinery operation, hot works and confined space activities, ensuring the required permits and control measures are in place.
5. Conduct safety induction, toolbox meetings and safety briefings for employees, subcontractors and workers.
6. Assist in the preparation, implementation and review of risk assessments, safe work procedures (SWP), method statements and permit-to-work requirements.
7. Investigate and report accidents, incidents, near misses and safety observations, and coordinate the implementation of preventive and corrective actions.
8. Ensure compliance with applicable workplace safety and health legislation, company SHE policies and client/project safety requirements.
9. Maintain proper safety records, inspection reports, training records, incident reports and statutory documentation, and support internal or external safety audits.
10. Work closely with production, maintenance, lifting and operations teams to promote a strong safety culture and continuously improve workplace safety performance.
11. Coordinate with local authorities, including the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), for safety inspections and report any incidents as per legal requirements.
12. Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Safety Manager or Management, in support of overall project safety and compliance.
Requirements:
Education: Diploma or Degree in Safety Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in WSH coordination, preferably in the precast/construction industry.
Certifications: Advanced certificate in WSH (Level B), WSHC refresher course, Occupational First Aid (CPR and AED) certificate, Managing WAH, Bizsafe level 2
Knowledge: Strong understanding of Singapore's Workplace Safety and Health Act (WSHA), Understanding in ISO and Bizsafe audits, and other relevant construction safety regulations and standards.
