The Safety Coordinator is responsible for implementing and maintaining Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) standards at project sites. The role ensures compliance with company policies, client requirements, and local safety regulations. The Safety Coordinator works closely with project teams, contractors, and clients to promote a safe working environment, prevent accidents, and ensure all safety procedures and documentation are properly implemented and maintained.
Responsibilities:
. Implement the Company's EHSS (Environmental, Health, Safety and Security) Management Plan at the project site.
. Review and approve Contractor EHS document submissions, including Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Safe Work Procedures.
. Conduct safety training and induction programs for employees and site personnel.
. Provide guidance and recommendations to project management on EHS matters.
. Carry out regular site inspections (daily, weekly, and monthly) to ensure a safe and hazard-free working environment.
. Ensure site security personnel perform duties in accordance with project security requirements.
. Monitor Contractor daily toolbox meetings and ensure proper housekeeping practices are maintained.
. Coordinate safety and environmental matters with Contractors and relevant stakeholders.
. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare investigation reports.
. Verify tools, equipment, and machinery to ensure they are in safe and good working condition.
. Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies, procedures, and programs.
. Address workers safety concerns and promote a strong safety culture.
. Organize and conduct emergency drills and response exercises.
. Liaise and communicate with Clients on all safety and environmental matters.
. Maintain and update all safety documentation, reports, and records.
Requirements:
. Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in construction projects as a Safety Coordinator or similar role.
. Possession of relevant safety certification is preferred.
. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
. Able to travel / relocate
