SCOPE:
. Oversee daily safety operations at engineering sites to ensure compliance with Singapore's Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act and relevant regulations.
. Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, and implement control measures for engineering activities such as mechanical works, electrical installations, and civil projects.
. Perform routine safety inspections and audits to verify adherence to safety procedures and engineering standards.
. Investigate accidents, near-misses, and unsafe practices, preparing reports and recommending corrective and preventive actions.
. Organize toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and training sessions to promote awareness among engineers, technicians, and contractors.
. Manage and enforce the Permit-to-Work system for high-risk engineering activities (e.g., hot works, confined space entry, lifting operations).
. Liaise with authorities such as the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and WSH Council to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
. Maintain accurate safety documentation, records, and reports for audits and regulatory submissions.
. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to integrate safety measures into engineering workflows.
REQUIREMENT:
. Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline).
. WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH Coordinator) or equivalent certification.
. Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in engineering, construction, or manufacturing industries.
. Strong knowledge of Singapore's Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act, Codes of Practice, and engineering safety standards.
. Ability to conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
. Effective communication and leadership skills to influence safe work practices across engineering teams.
. Proficiency in documentation, reporting, and use of safety management systems.
. Detail-oriented, proactive, and safety-conscious with strong integrity and accountability.
. Team player with the ability to work independently when required.
