Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze real-time credit, market, and liquidity risk exposures across various financial products (e.g., equities, options, futures).
- Review and assess client accounts for creditworthiness, margin eligibility, and adherence to firm risk limits.
- Maintain and enhance the firm's risk management policies, procedures, and reporting systems.
- Conduct regular reviews of collateral and margin requirements, considering factors like volatility and concentration.
- Enforce risk controls, including issuing margin calls and executing protective actions on accounts when necessary.
- Prepare detailed risk reports, stress test analyses, and exception summaries for management review.
- Collaborate with operations, dealing, and client services teams to manage account deficits and recovery processes.
- Support regulatory and internal audit examinations, assisting with documentation and inquiry responses.
- Contribute to special projects aimed at improving risk infrastructure and processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- 3-5 years of direct risk management experience within a brokerage, securities firm, or related financial institution.
- Solid understanding of financial markets, including equities, derivatives, and margin lending.
- Practical experience with margining methodologies, exposure monitoring, and basic stress testing.
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain complex risks to various stakeholders.
- Familiarity with financial regulations is a strong plus.
- Progress toward or holding a professional certification (e.g., FRM, CFA) is advantageous.
