The Retail Manager will be responsible for leading and driving end-to-end retail operations, sales performance, and team capability across all stores. The incumbent will play a critical role in delivering strong commercial results, ensuring operational excellence, and building a high-performing retail organization.
Responsibilities
1. Retail Store Operations
- Lead and oversee daily retail operations to ensure consistent execution of operational and brand standards.
- Monitor inventory levels, stock movement, and replenishment to prevent stock loss, shortages, or overstocking.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, SOPs, and visual merchandising guidelines.
- Implement and monitor loss prevention measures, including regular stock and operational audits.
2. Sales Strategy and Target Achievement
- Set, track, and drive store-level sales targets to consistently meet or exceed business goals.
- Conduct monthly sales performance reviews to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
- Develop and execute strategic initiatives to improve sales productivity and profitability.
- Partner with District Managers to create and follow through on turnaround plans for underperforming stores.
3. New Store Openings
- Lead the planning and execution of new store openings to ensure timely and successful launches.
- Coordinate manpower deployment, store setup, merchandising, and operational readiness.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver smooth store openings aligned with brand standards.
4. Leadership and Team Development
- Lead, coach, and inspire District Managers and Store Managers to build a strong, results-driven retail team.
- Oversee manpower planning, recruitment, scheduling, and performance management.
- Identify capability gaps and drive structured training programs to strengthen product knowledge, service standards, and selling skills.
- Develop succession plans to ensure leadership continuity and long-term talent sustainability.
- Partner closely with the HR Department to drive talent development initiatives, workforce planning, and leadership pipeline growth.
5. Operational Efficiency and Cost Management
- Manage store budgets, sales targets, expenses, and overall store profitability.
- Monitor operational costs and implement initiatives to improve cost efficiency.
- Address operational and people-related issues promptly to maintain business continuity.
6. Cross Department Collaboration and Communication
- Partner closely with Marketing, Merchandising, Finance, and HR to support seamless retail execution.
- Act as a key communication bridge between Head Office and the retail network.
Requirements
- Highly driven, results-oriented, and passionate about delivering strong sales and operational performance.
- Proven experience in retail operations management, preferably within fashion, sportswear, or lifestyle retail.
- Strong leadership capability with experience managing multi-store teams and senior retail leaders.
- Solid analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable strategies.
- Hands-on problem solver with a proactive and pragmatic mindset.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in retail systems, sales reporting, and data analytics tools.
- Willingness to travel extensively across store locations.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
