The Area manager will oversee the operational performance of the retail stores in Singapore. This role is responsible for driving sales growth, optimizing inventory, and ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining strong visual merchandising standards, and leading a team of retail members to deliver consistent operational excellence.

Job Responsibilities:

Drive Sales Performance

  • Achieve and exceed area sales monthly targets. KPIs goals.
  • Review and analyse individual store performance to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for growth.
  • Develop and implement actionable plans to address underperforming stores, leveraging data-driven insights and store visit observations.
  • Conduct regular store visits to monitor progress, provide feedback, and ensure alignment with sales goals.
  • Collaborate with Store Managers to execute promotions and initiatives that drive foot traffic and optimize store performance.
  • Share best practices and success strategies across stores to enhance overall sales performance.
  • Analyze sales and product performance to identify opportunities in controllable areas.

People Development

  • Identify high-potential team members and create tailored development plans to prepare them for next-level promotions.
  • Foster a positive and motivating work environment for a team of 70+ employees, ensuring high morale and engagement.
  • Act as a mentor to Store Managers, equipping them with leadership skills to manage and inspire their own teams.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and coaching sessions with Store Managers, mentoring them on team leadership and operational management.
  • Actively coach and develop store team members to drive performance, accountability, and autonomy.
  • Build diverse, high-performing teams by assessing strengths, encouraging career development, and providing opportunities for growth.
  • Support recruitment processes, including interviewing and selecting candidates aligned with company culture and values.
  • Mediate and resolve escalated HR or team-related issues to ensure productivity and team harmony.
  • Build and maintain internal benchmarks and succession plans.

Inventory and Stocks Management

  • Ensure optimal stocks levels across all stores, minimizing overstocking and out of stocks.
  • Oversee and participate stocks movement accuracy, stocktake processes and shrinkage control.
  • Collaborate with the Merchandising to improve product availability and assortment planning.

Ensure Operational Excellence

  • Set and uphold the highest operational standards for back and front-of-house in all stores, in line with company guidelines.
  • Collaborate with regional office departments to resolve operational gaps, ensuring seamless execution of processes.
  • Manage communication between stores, merchandising, and logistics teams regarding inventory needs, stock allocations, delivery schedules, and operational issues.
  • Optimize traffic management by reviewing store rosters and coaching teams on improvements.

Customer Service and Visual Merchandising

  • Develop a consumer-centric service culture by reinforcing the use of company training tools and personally leading by example.
  • Equip store managers to implement customer service processes and ensure team behaviours reflect outstanding service standards.
  • Understand and maintain visual merchandising guidelines to ensure stores are brand-appropriate, maximize sales opportunities, and exceed company expectations.
  • Regularly monitor store presentation and provide guidance to achieve consistent visual excellence.

Administration and Ad-Hoc Support

  • Work closely with HR to support manpower requirements and ensure stores operate with optimal staffing levels.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of HR paperwork, such as performance reviews, payroll, and claims.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and initiatives as required by the business.
