Job Summary
The Restaurant Supervisor / Senior Supervisor supports the Operations Manager in overseeing daily front-of-house operations to ensure efficient service delivery, adherence to service standards, and a positive dining experience for all guests. The role includes supervising service staff, coordinating floor activities, and maintaining operational readiness.
Responsibilities
- Lead front-of-house operations daily to ensure seamless service delivery and operational efficiency
- Manage guest flow by coordinating reservations, seating arrangements, and table assignments to optimize dining area capacity
- Monitor dining area cleanliness, table settings, and compliance with Yum Cha's service standards to uphold a high-quality guest experience
- Deliver professional and courteous service to guests, promptly addressing enquiries, feedback, and service recovery to maintain satisfaction
- Supervise and assign tasks to service staff during shifts to ensure effective station coverage and task completion
- Train new and existing staff on service procedures, menu knowledge, and customer engagement to enhance team performance
- Assist in staff scheduling and manpower planning to meet operational demands during peak and off-peak hours
- Support inventory management by conducting checks and requisitioning front-of-house supplies to maintain stock levels
- Ensure accuracy in POS transactions and enforce compliance with cash-handling procedures to safeguard financial integrity
- Enforce workplace safety and hygiene standards in line with company and regulatory requirements to provide a safe environment
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in F&B service, preferably in Chinese cuisine or dim sum
- Prior experience as Senior Service Staff, Captain, or Supervisor is an advantage
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage teams and guest interactions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage operations during peak hours
- Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and split shift schedules
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin to facilitate clear communication with staff and guests
- Positive work attitude, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility
