Position Overview:
We are seeking a Resident Technical Officer (RTO) to support site supervision of building works, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, statutory requirements, and safety and quality standards.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Assist the Resident Engineer/equivalent in supervising and inspecting building works on site to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications, the Building Control Act and Regulations, relevant Singapore Standards and Codes of Practice, and Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements.
Supervise and inspect civil and structural works on site to ensure full compliance with approved drawings and specifications, the Building Control Act and Regulations, relevant Singapore Standards and Codes of Practice, and Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements.
Monitor day-to-day construction activities and workmanship to ensure works are carried out in accordance with contract requirements and approved method statements.
Conduct regular site inspections to identify defects, deviations, or non-compliances, and follow up with contractors on timely rectification.
Verify and maintain site inspection records, reports, and test results as required under statutory and project requirements.
Attend site coordination meetings, technical meetings, and inspections with consultants and relevant authorities when required.
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and site staff on technical and construction-related matters.
Assist in monitoring construction progress and highlight quality, safety, or programme issues to the project team.
Support project completion activities, including inspections, defect rectification, and preparation of handover documentation.
Qualifications & Experience:
Registered with IES or ACES as a Resident Technical Officer (RTO).
Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in the capacity of RTO for supervision of building projects in Singapore.
Prior experience in supervision of architectural and/or M&E works will be an added advantage.
Good knowledge of local building regulations, standards, and WSH requirements.
Able to work independently on site with minimal supervision and communicate effectively with project stakeholders.
