Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor daily construction activities for marine, coastal and structural works.
- Ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and project requirements.
- Provide site supervision for the construction of load-out platforms, finger piers, crane foundations, foreshore structures and other marine-related works.
- Conduct regular site inspections and monitor the quality and progress of construction works.
- Ensure construction works comply with approved Quality Assurance / Quality Control procedures.
- Review contractors method statements, Risk Assessments, Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), shop drawings and technical submissions.
- Coordinate with the Resident Engineer, Professional Engineer, consultants, contractors and subcontractors on technical and site matters.
- Monitor marine construction activities, including marine plant, barges, lifting operations and other marine-related equipment where applicable.
- Check construction materials, workmanship and completed works against approved drawings and specifications.
- Identify and report defects, non-conformities and deviations, and follow up on rectification works.
- Attend site meetings, inspections, testing and coordination meetings.
- Maintain proper site records, including daily site reports, inspection records, progress records, photographs and other project documentation.
- Monitor site progress and highlight delays, technical issues and construction constraints to Project Manager.
- Assist in checking site measurements, progress claims and variation works where required.
- Monitor the implementation of safety, environmental and housekeeping requirements on site.
- Coordinate with relevant parties to resolve technical and construction-related issues.
- Assist in the inspection, testing, rectification and handover of completed works.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Resident Engineer / Project Manager.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering / Civil & Structural Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Accredited Resident Technical Officer (RTO) with IES/ACES.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant site supervision experience, preferably in marine, coastal or structural construction projects.
- Candidates with experience in marine construction, foreshore works, pier construction, load-out platforms, crane foundations or marine structures will be highly preferred.
- Good knowledge of construction methods, structural works, engineering drawings, specifications and site inspection procedures.
- Familiar with marine construction activities, including finger piers, foreshore works, piling, concrete works, foundations and marine structures.
- Experience with marine plant, barges, lifting operations and marine construction equipment will be an advantage.
- Familiar with Singapore construction practices, relevant regulations, safety requirements and environmental requirements.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and method statements.
- Good communication, coordination and report-writing skills.
- Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with consultants, contractors and project teams.
