Job Description

We're looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Resident Technical Officer (RTO) to join our team. You will play a key role in supervising and ensuring the quality of construction works in compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret project specifications and construction drawings to ensure all site activities align with client requirements and statutory regulations.
  • Monitor site works closely, ensuring adherence to approved method statements and work procedures.
  • Supervise structural works on-site, identifying and reporting any non-conformities or deviations in workmanship.
  • Ensure that contractors follow consultants instructions during execution of the works.
  • Check drawings for inconsistencies or discrepancies, and proactively highlight issues to the Consultant along with potential solutions to avoid project delays.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections, including checking the quality of materials used to ensure they meet project requirements.
  • Maintain proper documentation of all site inspections, safety records, and updated as-built drawings.
  • Keep accurate records of work progress, site housekeeping, and prepare regular reports for the team.
  • Verify contractors progress claims, ensuring accuracy in reported completed works and materials/equipment delivered or stored on site.
  • Witness inspections, testing, and commissioning activities to ensure they comply with design specifications.
  • Provide regular updates on work quality and progress to the project's Qualified Person (QP) and Consultant team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Diploma in Engineering or related discipline
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in supervising institutional building projects
  • Possess a valid Resident Technical Officer (RTO) Certificate accredited by IES/ACES
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, relevant codes, and regulatory requirements
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills - able to work well with consultants, contractors, and team members
  • A proactive team player who is detail-oriented and committed to high standards of quality and safety
