Roles and Responsibilities
Supervise and monitor daily tunnel construction activities.
Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and authority requirements.
Monitor tunnel excavation, tunnelling, temporary and permanent support systems.
Inspect reinforcement, formwork, concrete, waterproofing, drainage, and structural works.
Check tunnel alignment, levels, dimensions, and construction tolerances.
Inspect materials and ensure only approved materials are used.
Witness required inspections, testing, concrete sampling, and quality-control activities.
Identify defective or non-conforming works and ensure proper rectification.
Monitor ground conditions, water ingress, tunnel stability, and support systems.
Ensure safe working practices, proper access, ventilation, lighting, housekeeping, and emergency arrangements.
Monitor contractor and subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with approved procedures.
Coordinate with the Resident Engineer, consultants, contractors, surveyors, and other site personnel.
Monitor construction progress and report delays, technical issues, and site constraints.
Maintain daily site records, inspection reports, photographs, test results, and other project documentation.
Check and maintain records of approved drawings, material submissions, and construction documents.
Monitor waterproofing, drainage, M&E interfaces, and other associated tunnel works.
Assist with authority inspections and ensure statutory requirements are followed.
Monitor correction and closure of defects, observations
