Job Summary

You will design, lead, and evaluate diverse programmes that enhance the well-being and engagement of nursing home residents. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families to integrate activities into holistic care plans, driving positive psychosocial outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement diverse programmes and activities (recreational, social, cognitive, physical, cultural, spiritual, educational) tailored to residents interests, cognitive levels, and physical abilities
  • Conduct needs assessments and collect feedback from residents, families, and staff to continuously improve programme relevance and impact
  • Develop detailed activity plans with clear objectives, required materials, and safety protocols to ensure effective delivery
  • Lead and facilitate daily, weekly, and special group and individual programmes, adapting activities to meet individual resident needs inclusively and safely
  • Provide encouragement and active participation to foster resident engagement and motivation during activities
  • Coordinate logistics including setup, material preparation, and equipment management to ensure smooth programme execution
  • Build strong, positive relationships with residents by understanding their preferences, life histories, and cultural backgrounds to enhance engagement
  • Advocate for residents psychosocial well-being within the nursing home environment
  • Collaborate closely with nursing, therapy, medical, and social work teams to integrate programmes into residents overall care plans
  • Work alongside other Programme Executives/Assistants, volunteers, and external partners to maximize programme effectiveness
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding resident participation and programme updates to maintain transparency and support
  • Maintain accurate records of resident attendance, participation, and responses to programmes for monitoring purposes
  • Evaluate programme effectiveness by identifying improvement areas and documenting outcomes to inform future planning
  • Prepare regular reports on programme activities, resident engagement, and impact for management review

Requirement

  • Diploma or equivalent in any discipline
  • Minimum two years of experience in a similar role within a nursing home setting
  • Ability to converse in local dialects to facilitate effective communication with residents
  • Demonstrated passion for serving the needy and vulnerable elderly population
  • Proficient listening and coaching skills to support resident engagement and well-being
  • Ability to work independently with initiative and accountability
