Resident Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Resident Infrastructure Engineer to support and maintain a multi-site IT environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security and performance of network, server, storage and backup infrastructure. This position also involves infrastructure upgrades, technical troubleshooting, vendor coordination and project support.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Operations & Support

• Manage and maintain enterprise servers, network equipment, storage systems and backup infrastructure.
• Administer onsite and offsite backup solutions using Veeam.
• Support Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) and physical server environments.
• Monitor and maintain network connectivity, switches, firewalls and wireless infrastructure across multiple locations.
• Troubleshoot network access control (NAC), connectivity and security-related issues.
• Support wireless technologies including Aruba, Cisco and Ruckus.

Systems & Asset Management

• Oversee the operational lifecycle of Synology NAS storage, physical servers and Nutanix clusters.
• Maintain SSL certificates and support infrastructure security requirements.
• Manage APC UPS equipment, including maintenance and replacement planning.
• Coordinate ISP service renewals, infrastructure upgrades and technology refresh activities.
• Perform firewall configuration changes and support ongoing network improvements.

Project & Technical Coordination

• Support infrastructure migration and server room relocation activities.
• Work with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
• Maintain technical records, infrastructure documentation and operational procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure stability and service delivery.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Communications or a related discipline.
• Preferably 3–5 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration or network engineering.
• Hands-on experience supporting enterprise networks, servers and infrastructure platforms.
• Good understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, network security and Windows environments.
• Familiarity with firewalls, switching, wireless networks and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Exposure to Veeam, Nutanix, Cisco, Aruba, Ruckus or Synology would be advantageous.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to communicate effectively in English and work independently in an onsite environment.
• Customer-focused, proactive and willing to learn new technologies.
