DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing continuous on-site supervision and inspection of all M&E installation works
- Ensuring that all M&E installations strictly adhere to approved drawings, specifications, local codes (e.g., Singapore Standards, relevant BCA regulations, SCDF fire codes, PUB water regulations), and industry best practices.
- Inspecting M&E equipment and materials delivered to the site to verify they match approved samples and specifications, are undamaged, and are correctly stored.
- Monitoring and identifying any defective workmanship or non-compliant installations and instructing contractors for immediate rectification.
- Actively witnessing and verifying all necessary M&E system tests
- Ensuring that all M&E systems are properly commissioned to achieve the specified performance parameters and operational efficiency.
- Reviewing and approving test reports and commissioning records submitted by the contractor.
- Maintaining comprehensive daily site diaries, inspection logs, progress reports, and records of all M&E works, including dates of installation, testing, and approval.
- Tracking and reporting on the progress of M&E works against the project schedule, highlighting any delays or potential issues.
- Reviewing and commenting on contractor's M&E shop drawings, coordination drawings, method statements, material approvals, test certificates, and operation & maintenance (O&M) manuals.
- Preparing and maintaining defect lists (punch lists) during pre-completion inspections and ensuring timely rectification by contractors.
- Acting as the key M&E technical liaison between the main contractor, M&E subcontractors, M&E consultants (Qualified Person for Supervision - QP(S)), and the client.
- Attending regular site meetings, technical meetings, and coordination meetings to discuss M&E progress, resolve technical challenges, and ensure inter-disciplinary coordination.
- Assisting in resolving technical issues, design discrepancies, and site clashes related to M&E installations, often collaborating with the M&E QP(D).
- Ensuring that all M&E installation activities comply with workplace safety and health (WSH) regulations and project-specific safety plans.
JOB COMPETENCY (QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE)
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
- Registered Resident Engineer with IES/ACES.
- At least a minimum of 5 years experience with supervision experience in Commercial/ Office/Institution projects. Preferably to have experience in solar generation system, energy management system and BESS (Battery Energy Storage System).
