Research Scientist (Data Analytics & Machine Learning)

Summary:

Our client are seeking a Research Scientist to join our corporate lab, focusing on data analytics and machine learning applications for enzyme production optimization. The role involves modeling analytical data from factories and R&D centers using AI/ML approaches, and contributing to research outputs such as publications and patents.

Remuneration:

• Up to $10,000, with AWS and Variable Bonus

Responsibilities

• Manage and preprocess large datasets for analysis.
• Develop scripts and code to perform specified computational tasks.
• Apply statistical analysis and machine learning techniques, including:
  - Optimization algorithms
  - Supervised and unsupervised learning
  - Sampling algorithms
  - Deep learning models
• Optimize ML/AI models to meet performance specifications.
• Summarize and present results for internal reporting and external stakeholders.
• Participate in seminars, research-in-progress meetings, and collaborations.
• Contribute to writing and publishing scientific papers and patents.

Requirements

• PhD in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proficient in coding with R, Python, Java, and Bash.
• Strong knowledge of bioinformatics (sequence analysis, protein structure prediction).
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Demonstrated ability in optimizing ML/AI models.
• Apt learner, adaptable, and able to apply new computational techniques to open-ended problems.
• Effective communicator and team player, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-specialists.
