Job Description

The Biomanufacturing Technology Group (Bioengineering and Automation) is developing platform technologies for large-scale processing of cells, tissues, biomaterials, and cell-derived materials to realize targeted applications in cultivated meat, regenerative medicine, cell and gene therapy. We seek a proactive candidate to join us in our ongoing projects in Cultivated Meat Biomanufacturing and Regenerative Medicine. The successful candidate will work within a highly interdisciplinary R&D team of scientists and engineers to develop innovative materials, streamlined processes, and advanced biofabrication modalities for next-generation cell and tissue-based products.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop scaffolds/hydrogels/culture support/substrates/formulations for cultured meat applications.
  • Perform characterization of scaffolds/substrates with desirable properties (mechanical, biochemical, physical characterizations etc.)
  • Perform detailed literature review, design, and execution of experiments.
  • Collect experimental data, analyze and interpret results, and plan the next step.
  • Update project progress in bi-weekly project meetings and assist in preparing reports.
  • Involved in writing IPs and manuscripts.
  • Perform general lab housekeeping and take up some admin duties of the team as necessary

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelors or Masters degree in Bioengineering/Biomedical Engineering/Biotechnology/Materials Science/Food Science/Life Science disciplines or equivalent with commensurate experience.
  • Ideally 1 year of work experience in cell or tissue engineering, biofabrication or working with biomaterials.
  • Experience in biomaterial formulations and characterizations such as tensile/compression tests, TPA, Rheology, FTIR, XPS, SEM etc. will be an advantage.
  • Familiar with mammalian cell culture, cell staining, cell viability, fluorescent imaging, functional cells assay will be an advantage.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing environment and project priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail and reproducibility
  • Good written and communication skills
  • Experience in statistical analysis will be an advantage.
  • Good with Microsoft Office (with strength in Excel data analysis)
