The Earth Observatory of Singapore at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, invites applications for an outstanding Research Fellow with a strong background in earthquake monitoring. The successful candidate will lead and contribute to the development of advanced approaches for investigating earthquake nucleation and propagation mechanisms. The role involves both independent and collaborative research to achieve project objectives, as well as the publication of high-impact journal articles that enhance the international standing of the University.
We are looking for a Research Fellow to develop and perform advanced seismic source analysis for both small earthquakes within the Singapore and moderate-large earthquakes in southeast Asia.
Key Responsibilities:
Apply and develop approaches for advanced earthquake source analysis
Apply the developed system to the Singapore and its surrounding seismic data
Publish high-impact research articles in leading international journals
Assist in the preparation and development of competitive research proposals
Support the supervision and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students
Job Requirements:
PhD degree in seismology and solid geophysics
At least 2 years of relevant experience in earthquake monitoring
Familiarity with related literature and software
Good written and oral communication skills
