Research Fellow (Power Engineering)

School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering is one of the founding Schools of the Nanyang Technological University. Centre of power engineering is a world-leading research center in electric power engineering, driving research excellence and innovation towards a sustainable, reliable and low-carbon energy future.

Our centre is seeking to hire a motivated research fellow to conduct advanced research on power engineering. The position will focus on cutting-edge research, dissemination of findings, and translation into industry applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct research on packaging design and integration for power electronic devices, including mechanism analysis, electrothermal modeling, and structural design to enhance device performance and capability.

• Perform software & hardware validation using simulation tools and converter experiments.

• Publish research findings in top-tier IEEE journals and present at leading conferences.

• Collaborate with the team to develop innovative solutions for improving the reliability of power electronic devices.

Job Requirements:

• PhD degree in electrical engineering or related field

• Strong knowledge of power electronics, packaging and integration, and device materials

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Proficiency in programming, software simulation for multi-physics, and conducting hardware experiments

• Self-motivated, responsible, and able to work independently as well as in a team.

• A strong background in packaging design and integration of power devices is a distinct advantage.
