The laboratory of Yansong Miao invites applications for a Research Fellow to contribute to research in plant agrotechnology. The successful candidate will lead efforts to discover and characterize plant resistance genes using effectoromics approaches in plant-microbe interactions.
This position focuses primarily on experimental biology, including molecular, genetic, and cell biology approaches, with opportunities to integrate computational and multi-omics analyses where relevant. The ideal candidate is a motivated and independent researcher with strong expertise in plant biology and a keen interest in interdisciplinary research.
Key Responsibilities
Design and execute research to identify and characterize plant resistance genes using effectoromics approaches
Perform genetic, molecular, and plant pathology assays in plant-microbe interaction systems
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to validate candidate genes and underlying mechanisms
Job Requirements
PhD in Plant Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field
At least 5 years of relevant postdoctoral or research experience with strong hands-on expertise
Solid background in plant immunity, plant-microbe interactions, molecular genetics, or related areas
Strong experimental skills in molecular biology, genetics, and/or cell biology
Good written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of scientific publications preferred
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet project timelines
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and collaborative mindset
