The Institute for Functional Intelligent Materials is seeking to recruit a research fellow in materials discovery AI techniques. The key responsibilities will be to:
- Participate in a research programme investigating multi-fidelity computational chemistry methods and the appropriate interfacing and development of AI techniques to these
- Assist with publishing original work
- Participate in student supervision at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Develop a research profile through conferences and seminar
- Enhance relationships with collaborators both local and international
Job Requirements
An ideal candidate will be able to show:
- A PhD in quantum chemistry or similar field
- An ability to supervise students and the undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Experience supervising and coordinating team activities
- Research with experience developing and utilizing computational methods
- A proven record of research excellence
- Demonstrated evidence of independent research ability
- Experience in record keeping, preparation of research papers, and presentation of seminars
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience interacting with a variety of researchers and stakeholders
