Job Description
- We are seeking a Research Fellow to join a research project examining landscape infrastructure along Singapore's coastline. The successful candidate will investigate how coastal defences, green-blue infrastructure, and public waterfront spaces shape ecological function, climate resilience, and community life along Singapore's shore.
- This is a mixed-methods position combining spatial analysis of coastal landscape infrastructure with qualitative fieldwork, including focus group interviews with coastal communities, planners, and other stakeholders. The role suits a researcher comfortable moving between GIS/remote sensing work and community-facing qualitative research.
- PhD (completed or near completion) in Geography, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Studies, Social Science, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience with spatial analysis tools (e.g. ArcGIS, or QGISfor spatial data)
- Experience designing and conducting qualitative research, particularly focus groups or interviews
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage fieldwork logistics
- Interest in coastal environments, urban resilience, or infrastructure studies
The successful candidate will work with other researchers and students at National University of Singapore.
