Research Engineer (6-month contract), SCIS

RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate will be responsible for conducting research on proactive conversational agents with LLMs. Successful candidate will be part of an active research team led by Prof Lizi Liao from School of Computing and Information Systems, Singapore Management University.

• Algorithm design, implementation & testing.
• benchmark comparison.
• Setup and develop response generation or ranking models writing scientific report or summaries.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Bachelor's degree or senior undergraduate student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related disciplines from a reputable institution of higher learning.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant research experience in NLP or CV.
• Better if have research papers published in top tier conferences such ACL.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as pytorch or tensorflow is required.
• Demonstrated experience and know-how on doing research.
• Experience with systems, such as linux, docker is preferred.
• Excellent working knowledge of dialogue systems, pretrained language models, LLMs.
• Good analytical, technical and problem solving skills.
• Applicants with research publications in NLP or CV area will be advantageous.
• Self-motivated individual who can work independently and also collaboratively with team members.
