Research & Development Product Manager (Food)

Job Description

• Oversees the R&D, product planning, development across food and beverage categories, identifying opportunities that can generate sustainable revenue growth.
• Translate and analyse market trends and consumer behaviour into differentiated food product concepts.
• Act as the key partner to customers and stakeholders, translating customer requirements into innovative product solutions.
• Provide technical expertise and product knowledge to support customer engagement and business growth.
• Identify emerging food technologies, ingredients and capabilities that can create competitive advantages.
• Manage the full product development lifecycle, from concept development and sampling to production, launch, and review.
• Review the existing food product portfolio and identify opportunities for cost optimisation, upselling, localisation and rationalisation.
• Drive product formulation and reformulation, balancing taste, quality, nutrition, manufacturing feasibility, ingredient cost and margin.

Job Requirements

• Previous experience in R&D, product development, food formulation and innovation.
• Strong understanding of food quality, food safety and product development requirements.
• Able to manage the full innovation lifecycle from concept development through formulation and commercial launch.
• Able to engage with customers to develop technical or product solutions.
• Good project management, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
