The Centre for Health, Culture, and Society (CHCS) at NTU CoHASS is a new interdisciplinary and cross-sector research hub dedicated to understanding health and sickness through the concept of the lifeworld - the social, cultural, and historical horizons within which patients, practitioners, and caregivers make sense of their experiences. Working with faculty across all four CoHASS Schools and established partnerships with major Singapore hospitals and arts organisations, the Centre advances research across five thematic strands: Digital Health, Medical Pluralism, Arts for Health, Healthcare Systems, and Disability Studies.
We are seeking a Research Associate/Research Fellow to conduct interdisciplinary research within one or more of the Centre's thematic strands, engage with cross-sector partners, assist with grant development, contribute to our undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes, and support the Centre's wider activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct and publish interdisciplinary research within the Centre's thematic strands.
Engage with hospital, arts, and community partners on cross-sector research projects.
Assist with grant applications to various funding bodies.
Contribute to teaching on the MA in Health, Culture, and Society.
Mentor student researchers and support the Centre's PPI initiatives.
Contribute to the Centre's seminars, events, publications programme, and outreach activities.
Job Requirements:
Master's degree or higher in a relevant humanities or social sciences discipline.
Academic expertise in health, culture, and/or society commitment to the lifeworld approach.
Track record of independent research and scholarly outputs.
Experience or aptitude for interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration.
Strong communication skills and ability to engage academic and non-academic audiences.
