Job Summary
The Youth Director will lead and grow the youth ministry by discipling young people, developing leaders, and creating engaging environments that support their spiritual, emotional, and social development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a clear vision and strategy for the youth ministry aligned with the church's overall mission.
- Teach, mentor, and provide pastoral care to youths to support their growth and development.
- Recruit, train, and support youth leaders and volunteers.
- Plan and coordinate weekly youth services, gatherings, and camps.
- Manage ministry schedules, service flow, and programme planning.
- Build positive relationships with youths and their families.
- Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Organise outreach initiatives to engage new youths and integrate them into the community.
- Work collaboratively with church leadership, volunteers, and relevant community partners.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- Relevant experience working with youths (ages 12-18), preferably in a church, ministry, or community setting.
- Ability to teach or facilitate group discussions effectively.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and weekday evenings.
Preferred:
- 3-5 years of experience in youth ministry, church leadership, or a related field.
- Formal training in Theology, Ministry, or a related discipline.
- Experience leading teams or managing volunteers.
- Experience organising camps, events, or outreach programmes.
Candidates with substantial relevant experience and demonstrated leadership ability are encouraged to apply, even without formal qualifications.
This role involves spiritual leadership, teaching and discipleship within a church context. Applicants should be practising Christians who are able to support and communicate the beliefs and values of Solomon's Porch Singapore, as this is an occupational requirement for the role.
