Posting Start Date: 04/11/2026
Job Description
The Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is recruiting a full-time, experienced research associate to critically analyze rehabilitation services in Singapore from a health policy and systems perspective and conduct comparative health systems analysis with other developed Asian countries.
Background
Singapore has one of the fastest ageing populations in the world, and it has been estimated that by 2050, one in six elderly persons would have at least one disability affecting activities of daily living. The need for rehabilitation services will continue to grow; however, there has been virtually no published research evaluating rehabilitation in Singapore at a health system level. This project aims to analyze how rehabilitation services are planned, organized, governed, financed and monitored in Singapore, through extensive literature reviews, qualitative interviews with stakeholders, and policy analysis. The study will also critically compare the rehabilitation systems of Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea and Hong Kong through a comparative health systems perspective, to identify lessons for the development of national rehabilitation systems.
