The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) invites applications for the position of Research Associate, Nano-Bio Interface . The Nano-Bio Interface Lab led by Asst. Prof. ZHAO Wenting in the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Biotechnology at Nanyang Technology University pioneered in elucidating the nanoscale regulation mechanism of how membrane geometry impacts the organization and modulation of cellular protein machineries in disease progression. The lab has established state-of-the-art nanofabrication and advance imaging technologies. The team is seeking to recruit a research associate devoted to studies of nanoscale assembly of diverse biomolecules on biological membranes using nanofabricated chips and high-resolution imaging. The project aims to elucidate mechanisms of biophysical guidance of biomolecule assembly associated with disease progression and drug delivery.
The Research Associate will take on a significant role in Lead sub-projects and coordinate collaboration works.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist research project under the direction of Principal Investigator or senior research staff, and present significant progress towards the deliverables.
Lead sub-projects and coordinate collaboration works.
Participate in writing scientific publications and grants. Review and current of literatures.
Collaborate with other team members, and supervise junior members.
Assist in general operation of laboratory including ordering supplies and maintenance
Train new laboratory personnel, students, and short-term visiting scientists
Comply with all laboratory safety standards and guidelines
Job Requirements:
Minimum Master Degree in biological science, biomedical engineering or related disciplines. Research backgrounds in nanofabrication, invitro reconstitution, fluorescence microscopy imaging and related image analysis are highly preferred.
Working experience in supported lipid bilayer, protein purification, liposome assay, T cell culture and characterization, immunofluorescence, confocal microscopy, python or MATLAB-based image analysis, are highly desired.
Highly motivated and dedicated to the development of the project.
Excellent laboratory, planning, and leadership skills.
Ability to integrate well into a team of researchers with different backgrounds, and the ability to learn new techniques.
We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
