The Organo-Mineral Group (OMG) within the Asian School of the Environment (ASE) is seeking a Research Associate. This position is part of a Nanyang Assistant Professor startup grant. The Research Associate will conduct fieldwork and laboratory analysis.
Key Responsibilities include:
Conduct fieldwork
Assist setting up new laboratory infrastructure
Wet chemical treatment of environmental samples
HPLC analysis including preparative HPLC for compound specific isotope analysis
N2 BET surface area analysis
Develop protocols and prepare samples for radiocarbon analysis
Other analyses include elemental and isotopic assessment
The competencies and qualifications of an ideal candidate are listed below:
A master's degree in Geoscience or related field
Field experience for environmental sampling
Experience in analytical equipment including in isotope geochemistry
As the position requires stakeholder engagement in English, candidate should have good written and oral communication skills in English
Able to independently conduct field and laboratory work
Enthusiasm for research and team spirit
