Hyundai-NTU-A.STAR Corp Lab has a robotic pick and place project. We are seeking to hire a research associate to carry the computer vision part of the project.
Responsibilities:
Develop effective segmentation algorithms to segment industrial wrapped objects with limited data
Develop algorithms to identify the most reliable segmented objects.
Develop algorithms to determine the best grasp pose based on segmentation results.
Install the algorithms in a robot arm.
Data collection and annotation.
Review and identify the weaknesses of existing methods for 3D object detection and segmentation.
Carry out experiments and analyze the results.
Develop a robotic pick and place with other researchers and engineers.
Prepare reports and scientific papers.
Requirements:
Master's in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or related fields.
Strong knowledge in deep learning, pose estimation, 2D/3D detection and segmentation, SAM, foundation models, and 3D computer vision strong software skills and knowledge of robotics preferred.
Proven innovative research experience (preferably 2+ years), ability to form hypotheses, design experiments, and implement new methods publications in top AI/robotics conferences are a plus.
Independent, analytical, proactive, adaptable, with strong teamwork and communication skills able to work flexible hours.
Oversee and report project progress effectively.
