Job Description

Clinical
Support the implementation and adoption of Generative AI documentation tools within the Department of Paediatrics, including collecting user feedback and identifying opportunities for workflow improvement.

Research
. Conduct a systematic literature review on Generative AI ethics in paediatrics, with a focus on automatic speech recognition and the storage of children's voice recordings.
. Assist in the design of the study methodology.
. Develop and refine the questionnaire survey for paediatricians regarding their perceptions of Generative AI, automatic speech recognition, and the storage of children's voice recordings.
. Pilot test and validate the survey instrument.
. Analyse quantitative and qualitative survey data using appropriate statistical methods.
. Prepare figures, tables, and statistical summaries for publication.
. Present research findings at departmental meetings and conferences.
. Draft and revise manuscript for publication

Ethics and Governance
. Assist with Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions and amendments.
. Ensure compliance with institutional policies on research involving AI and patient data.
. Monitor data confidentiality and secure storage of research data.

Project Management
. Coordinate the overall study timeline and milestones.
. Liaise with clinicians, departmental administrators, and collaborators.
. Supervise and manage the schedules of the Computer Science and Pre-Med
interns to ensure all paediatricians are contacted.
. Organise project meetings and maintain meeting minutes.
. Maintain study documentation and version control.

Qualifications

• Masters in bioinformatics, statistics, computer science or related fields with good machine learning skills and software development skills
• Hands-on experience on development of AI models in areas such as NLP, imaging, speech, etc.
• Proficient with Python and AI related frameworks (such as scikit-learn, tensorflow, pytorch, etc.)
• Knowledge in machine learning platform and services from cloud provider such as AWS, GCP and Azure
• Knowledge in big data technologies including cloud computing is plus
• Ability to write/contribute to research articles, grants
• Ability to work well independently and also effectively as part of a team
• Background in or exposure to healthcare data is a plus
• Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
