Join Our Team at Centre for Disruptive Photonic Technologies, School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore

A Research Associate position is currently available at the Centre for Disruptive Photonic Technologies (CDPT), School of Physical & Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.

The Research Associate will be required to support the development of next-generation optoelectronic devices, focusing on devices such as metatransistors made from perovskites and conductive polymers. The role involves nanofabrication using focused ion beam milling and electron beam lithography, electroluminescence characterization, and photonic modeling with COMSOL and Lumerical.

Key Responsibilities:

As an integral part of the project, the Research Associate is expected to work on fabrication and characterization of light-emitting devices using advanced nanofabrication techniques, optical and electrical measurements to analyze emission properties, simulations to optimize device performance and light-matter interaction, collaborate with research teams and contribute to publications and reports, collaboration with research teams, and contribution to scientific publications.

The Research Associate is expected to work, generate ideas and experimentally prove them both independently and within team-working efforts with other researchers working on the project.

Job Requirements:

The Research Associate will be required to:

  • Design and conduct experiments in optical imaging, spectroscopy, and related photonic applications.

  • Operating and maintaining research laboratories, including advanced microscopy and spectroscopy equipment, in compliance with safety and laboratory protocols.

  • Analyze data, prepare scientific publications, and present findings at international conferences.

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners on joint research projects and technology development.

  • Contribute to progress reports, project meetings, and support day-to-day laboratory operations.

Moreover, applicants:

  • Must have a Master in Physics, Optical/Photonic Engineering, Materials Science, or closely related disciplines

  • Applicants must have relevant research experience in fabrication, optical characterization, and photonic modeling of perovskites and/or conductive polymers platform

  • Must have a good track record of scientific publications in international peer reviewed journals

  • Must have strong background in nanofabrication and sample preparation methods

  • Should show ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong initiative

  • Should show good communication and interpersonal skills
