Focus: Animal Husbandry (50%) | Research Support (50%)
(RCULA certification preferred / to be obtained during internship)
Role Overview
This Research Assistant Internship is designed for students seeking foundational exposure to preclinical research and laboratory animal science within a regulated research environment.
The intern will be embedded within the Animal Facility (AF), where animal husbandry and facility operations serve as a learning platform to understand how high‑quality animal care underpins reproducible in vivo research. Under close supervision, the intern will be introduced to basic in vivo research support activities, documentation practices, and compliance requirements.
Given the short internship duration, this role places emphasis on learning, observation, and assisted execution rather than independent or advanced experimental work, while providing hands‑on exposure to animal facility operations, animal welfare practices, and preclinical research support.
