Job Description

The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology is a recently formed interdisciplinary school at NTU. The key objective is supporting research and education programmes in organic and inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, chemical engineering, bioengineering and process engineering and synthetic chemistry.

We are looking for a Research Assistant to use computational methods to design catalysts. The role will focus on employing state of the art machine learning methods to advance catalyst design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform first principles calculations and analyze outputs.

  • Train, test, validate, and use machine learned interatomic potentials for catalyst design.

  • Work closely with experimental teams to synergize between theory and experiments.

  • Prepare presentations and report for regular meetings with industrial collaborators.

  • Write manuscripts based on the research performed.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor qualification degree in Chemical engineering, chemistry, or related field.

  • Entry level candidates are encouraged to apply.

  • Familiarity with undergraduate level understanding of thermodynamics and reaction kinetics.

  • Elementary proficiency in using python for scripting.

  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
