Job Requirements
Responsible for industrializing new and existing repair process, converting engineering repair requirements into robust, repeatable and production ready shop process
Key Responsibilities
- Study and review OEM repair requirements, component distress/defect, OEM manuals, and engineering inputs.
- Assess the feasibility of introducing new repair into the shop
- Define the complete repair sequence, detailed step by step repair process.
- Identify required machines, special processes, tooling, fixtures, gauges and inspection equipment.
- Develop process parameters and establish process controls, work instructions or shop instructions.
- Perform repair trials and establish repeatability / capability.
- Support process validation and qualification of new repair process (FAIR / Validation report).
- Prepare and maintain PFMEA, Control Plan, Inspection Plan, validation/qualification reports and repair development documentation.
- Coordinate with engineering, quality, NDT, operations, planning, tooling and supply chain for successful repair implementation.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, OEM requirements and applicable aerospace standards.
Work Experience
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing/Production Engineering.
- 4 to 8 years relevant experience in aerospace manufacturing, aero-engine MRO, component repair or industrialization.
- Knowledge and expereince in Aero engine component MRO and repair process, Manufacturing/process planning and industrialization.
- Knowledge of engineering drawing and GD&T.
