Role overview

We are seeking a high-performing Renewal Account Manager with strong commercial acumen and leadership potential. The Renewal Account Manager is responsible for driving customer retention and recurring revenue growth across an assigned portfolio of accounts within South East Asia. This role owns the end-to-end renewal cycle, ensuring timely contract renewals, accurate forecasting and identification of expansion opportunities within the existing customer base.

The Renewal Account Manager builds strong stakeholder relationships, understands business needs and positions renewal solutions that support long-term SaaS adoption. Working cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, Finance and Sales Operations, this role plays a critical part in minimizing churn, protecting revenue and contributing to the company's predictable revenue growth strategy.

The ideal candidate is commercially driven, detail-oriented, proactive in risk management and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the end-to-end renewal strategy, ensuring predictable revenue retention and expansion across assigned accounts.
  • Lead renewal forecasting with full accountability for accurate 180-day rolling forecasts and revenue commitments.
  • Manage complex subscription and support renewals, including multi-year agreements, co-term alignments, pricing strategy, and expansion opportunities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers and partners, engaging at senior stakeholder levels to negotiate commercial terms and drive long-term SaaS adoption.
  • Spearhead the transition from perpetual / subscription licenses to SaaS subscriptions, influencing customer transformation strategies and maximizing recurring revenue.
  • Identify renewal risks early and implement strategic mitigation plans to reduce churn and protect revenue.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Pre-Sales, Customer Success, Finance, and Sales Operations to align on account strategy and remove deal blockers.
  • Analyze customer usage trends, commercial performance, and market dynamics to uncover upsell, cross-sell, and expansion opportunities.
  • Drive process improvements and best practices in renewal management to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field;
  • 710 years of progressive experience in quota-carrying renewals, account management, customer success within a SaaS or software company.
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding renewal and revenue targets in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex sales cycles independently while influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of SaaS business models, subscription lifecycle management and renewal best practices.
  • Willingness to travel to meet customers or partners as required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Excel (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP) and Salesforce (SFDC)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in additional Southeast Asian languages is an advantage.
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities, high ownership mindset and readiness to take on future leadership responsibility.
