Relationship Manager, Corporate Banking (Western MNCs)
Overview
Our client is a well-established Western bank with a growing corporate banking platform in Asia. As part of its expansion, the bank is seeking an experienced Corporate Relationship Manager to cover Western multinational and local corporate clients, supporting both existing relationships and new business development across trade finance, capital markets, and treasury solutions.
This role offers strong exposure to a growth platform and is well-suited for a commercially minded banker with an entrepreneurial mindset and comfort operating in a Western business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a portfolio of corporate clients, ranging from SMEs to large multinational corporates, with varying degrees of complexity and cross-border needs
- Drive new client acquisition while deepening existing relationships through a consultative, solutions-oriented approach
- Originate and execute trade finance transactions, including: Bank Guarantees (BG) and Letters of Credit (LCs)
- Support and originate broader corporate banking solutions, including: Debt Capital Markets (DCM), M&A-related financing and Treasury and hedging products
- Work closely with product partners, credit, risk, and operations teams to deliver seamless execution
- Navigate cross-border and multicultural client engagements, including foreign-language business environments
- Contribute proactively to platform growth by helping shape processes, solutions, and client propositions in a developing franchise
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related discipline
- Minimum 10 years of corporate banking / relationship management experience, preferably covering Western MNC or international corporate clients
- Strong grounding in trade finance, with working knowledge of DCM, structured lending, and treasury products
- Comfortable managing clients across the size spectrum, from SMEs to large corporates
- Exposure to Western culture and business practices through education, secondment, or professional experience in Europe or other Western markets
- Able to operate confidently in a foreign-language or multicultural environment
- Entrepreneurial, proactive, and solutions-driven mindset comfortable with ambiguity and building new capabilities
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and credit structuring skills
