The Winslow is a residential care facility operating under the Ministry of Health, Singapore, Outpatient Medical Service (OMS) framework, with a care model that functions similarly to a step-down care environment. We support individuals requiring structured care, recovery, and rehabilitation in a safe, discreet, and hospitality-driven setting.

Job Purpose

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering direct care to clients dealing with various substance use and other addiction disorders. This includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care, while working closely with psychiatrists, therapists and other allied health professionals. The RN plays a key role in supporting clients through detoxification, rehabilitation, and recovery phases, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.

Location: 33 Hendon Road, Singapore 509673 (Changi)

Employment Type: Full-time position, with a 4-day work week (3 days off) alternating weekly, comprising 12-hour shifts on a rotating two-shift schedule.

Key Responsibilities

A. Client Assessment and Implementation

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients physical and mental health status.
  • Monitor and document vital signs, withdrawal symptoms, and any changes in condition.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Administer medications as prescribed, including withdrawal management and other related treatments.

B. Medication Administration & Monitoring

  • Administer medications safely and according to established protocols.
  • Monitor clients for adverse effects or reactions to medications, especially during detoxification or withdrawal.
  • Educate clients on medication purposes, side effects, and the importance of compliance to their treatment regimen.

C. Client Education

  • Provide guidance on lifestyle changes and stress management techniques to promote recovery.
  • Support individual or group therapy sessions related to health, coping mechanisms, and life skills.

D. Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Team

  • Work closely with psychiatrists, addiction specialists, therapists, recovery coaches, and other allied health providers to ensure comprehensive client care.
  • Participate in case discussions and treatment planning meetings.
  • Contribute to the development and review of care protocols and policies for addiction treatment.

E. Operational & General Duties

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare standards and internal protocols
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised care environment
  • Support a service culture that blends healthcare professionalism with hospitality standards

F. Resident Engagement & Programme Support

  • Assist in facilitating group therapy sessions and structured activities
  • Encourage resident participation in daily programmes to support recovery and reintegration
  • Provide emotional support and build rapport with residents
  • Contribute to a warm, therapeutic, and respectful environment

G. Health and Safety

  • Adhere to infection control and health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment for both staff and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practice guidelines in addiction treatment.
  • Identify and manage any potential risks, including withdrawal complications, overdose risk, or self-harm tendencies.

Requirements

  • Graduated with at least a Diploma in Nursing from an accredited tertiary institution in Singapore.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid Singapore Nursing Board license.
  • Holds a valid BCLS and AED certification.
  • Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
  • Experience in mental health, community care, or step-down care settings is an advantage.
  • Comfortable working in a non-acute, residential care environment.
  • Preferably with experience in managing clients with mental health conditions (co-occurring disorders).Training will be provided for candidates with limited experience.
